Thursday: Dining out

Today we went to eat out at Pizza Express. We had some different choices to eat. At the starter we had a salad with tomato and mozzarella, or some bread with garlic sauce. For the main we had three different types of pizza and we could choose the one we liked most.
The food was really good, the restaurant had a great atmosphere and it was really fun.

We had a good time there. When we finished, we went home.
We had so much fun!

Trip to Weston Super Mare

The first thing we learned today is ‘Weston-super-Mare’. It sounds very grand, but it’s just medieval Latin for ‘Weston-on-Sea’, and that’s the most important thing about it. Weston comes from the Anglo-Saxon for the west tun or settlement; super mare is Latin for "above sea".

It's on the Bristol Channel 18 miles (29 km) south west of Bristol between Worlebury Hill and Bleadon Hill.

Tenpin Bowling

On Wednesday morning we went to school at 8:45 and we had lessons until 12:30. We practised the use of some vocabulary about islands and other points.

In the afternoon, after having lunch, we went to the Tenpin Bowling. We made teams of five students and had a game. It was great! We had a very good time.  ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

After bowling we had some free time and we went to the city centre.

Finally, we went back home, we had dinner with our host family and we went to bed.

Graffiti walk and cinema!

Graffiti Walk

From the MShed, head along the Harbourside, we admired some of the best views of Bristol, Brunel's ss Great Britain, Aardman headquarters and looked over to see the coloured houses of Cliftonwood.

Then we visited the Bristol Museum. We had to do a quiz. We had a very good time! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

The newest of Banky's Bristol works, this first appeared on the side of a building in Albion Docks in Hanover Place, in Bristol's Harbourside in October 2014. Banksy was born in Bristol in 1974 and was involved in the wave of street art that took Bristol by storm in the 1980s.

Central Bristol: Grim Reaper
Banksy Grafitti Well-Hung LoverOne of the most infamous of Banksy's works was originally painted on the side of the Thekla Social boat moored in Bristol harbour. the decision was taken in August 2014 to remove the work to protect it from damage and wear and it is now on display in Bristol's M Shed.

The Girl with the Pierced Eardrum: It depicts a take on Vermeer’s famous Girl with a Pearl Earring, replacing the girl’s earring with an outdoor security alarm.

Bristol 19th of March

This morning we met at school at 9 o'clock. When everyone  arrived, we started the lessons. We were in three different groups and we made different activities in English.

After the lessons, we ate our pack lunch in a park. Then we had some free time to get around.

When we met again, we began to walk towards de Clifton Suspension Bridge, and we visited all the village. The Clifton Suspension Bridge, spanning the picturesque Avon Gorge, is the symbol of the city of Bristol. For almost 150 years this Grade I listed structure has attracted visitors from all over the world.

The bridge joins Bristol and North Somerset and is owned and operated by Clifton Suspension Bridge Trust. It is entirely funded by tolls - which have paid for its upkeep since it first opened to the public on 8th December 1864.

Bristol Cathedral is one of England's great medieval churches. It originated as an Augustinian Abbey, founded c. 1140 by prominent local citizen, Robert Fitzharding, who became first Lord Berkeley.  The transepts of the church date from this period, but its most vivid remains can be seen in the Chapter House and Abbey Gatehouse.

We returned by bus and we had 50 minuts to get around.
Finally we returned to our house.
